[Largeformat] Packard Shutters

Friends:

Speaking of Packard Shutteres, how many of our group use them for 
their barrel lenses that won't fit into a copal, ilex, or other?

Do the Packards work most/some of the time?  Any hints for beginners 
like myself on how to use these shutters?  How big a 
problem/disadvantage is it to use these shutters?...if one doesn't use 
the Packard then most of the larger barrel lenses cannot be utilized.  

Would it be worth it NOT to use these formidable lenses because the 
Packards are too much trouble?
