Hi Jerry,
I have a deal for you - take my mintish Koni-Omega 200 6x7 with one of the
sharpest lenses around in exchange for the Canham, I'll even pay shipping
:-)
The alternatives you have listed for a 4x5 RFH are all rather desirable.
Some fit the camera in the same way as a 4x5 film holder, whilst others
require a Graflok back. The former fold the roll film back on itself and
the latter do not.
If I had the money the RFH of choice would be the Sinar Vario which allows
five different picture formats on 120 roll film: 6x12; 6x9; 6x7; 6x6; and
6x4.5. This RFH fits the camera in the same way as a 4x5 film holder.
The lever wind back is easier for me - for the Graflex Graflok RFHs the
lever wind variety has a better film tansport system which keeps film
flatter than the knob wind versions.
Best plan is to pop into a pro. camera shop and ask to try the backs out.
Quite often these are available for hire also if you decide that buying one
isn't worth it.
Another option is to mount an SLR 35mm (or a MF SLR) onto a plate on the
Canham back. That'll save you buying an expensive 6x6 projector :-)
If all else fails, send me the airfare and I'll bring my kit over and snap
at the same time as you do....
All the best,
Clive http://clive.bel-epa.com
