[Largeformat] Re: Negatives or Transparencies for making color prints??

From: norbalt@juno.com (Tom L La Bron)

Luis,

Color transparency is the way to go. More latitude, better contrast.
Whether you use 8X10, 4X5, 6X7 or 35mm, color transparency medium is the
best and now a days that you can get prints direct from the transparency
that makes it even better. There is nothing like the detail of a 16X20
Print made from a 6X7 transparency, and even more satisfying is a 16X20
made from a 4X5 transparency. I love big prints. I have an ice picture
of leaves on a rock with ice formed around it in rushing water and
looking at the 16X20 of it it is almost surrealistic, but after it is
pointed out what it is, then it takes on a whole new look. I have a
16X20 print made from a 6X7 transparency of Gullfoss waterfall in Iceland
and you can see everything from close up to the distance with people
walking along its edge in beautiful detail.

Sorry for the excitement.:-)

Personally, I only shoot negative film if I have too use it.

God Bless and Keep You and Yours and Happy New Year,

Regards from Pawnee America
