Vic I do not know about other cities but City Color here in Dallas does an
excllent job of taking digital information and making prints that are so
pure as to believe they are photographic prints. I can hear all the sneers
in the background but it is true. There is a process for color (the lambda
process) which gives darkroom quality prints for reasonable prices (30x40
2-3 hundred dollars) Since most 8x10 trans from digital cost about
that...I consider that reasonable. Get to know the manager and I am sure
he will give you a photographer's discount. I put these prints up beside
my photographic enlargements type C prints and they are as good or better
and they are right from the computer.

Moreover the size of the file 40 megs or 80 megs doesn't appear to make a
difference. I have two examples of this hanging on my walls (digital file
size, I mean). It really is remarkable.
