[Largeformat] Re: Attachments

I've been to this gallery, and it *is* truly amazing. It's the Andrew Smith
Gallery, on San Francisco Street in Santa Fe. My wife and I (both of us are
photographers) have never been "collectors", but seeing this gallery sure made
us want to start. They had dozens of framed originals displayed on the walls,
by AA, Weston, Strand, Steichen, etc., etc. Also plenty of more contemporary
work. We saw nothing we could afford to purchase . . . until a salesperson
pulled out some smaller, less known prints for us to see. Literally hundreds
and hundreds of prints, that they actually allowed us to flip through and
handle on our own. I went back a couple days later (we were on our honeymoon)
and bought a very nice photogravure of an image by Eva Watson-Schutze. It was
once mounted in a copy of Camera Work, and dates to about 1908. If you're ever
in New Mexico, this gallery is a must-see.
