I have been enjoying the back and forth here and it reminded me of 
something that occured during a photo shoot several months back.

We had a layout from a client that had to be followed exactly and it 
was a straight down on the floor type of photograph.  We made a cell 
of the layout and put it on the back of the camera.  Rather than just 
use that as a template for directing where items go, we put a light 
source behind the ground glass and it projected onto the floor 
allowing us to place the products exactly where they were supposed to 
go.  This was an obious and simple solution, but frankly, one that I 
had not seen before.  It worked amazingly well and it exactly matched 
the layout.
