Hmmm... I'd be concerned about the graphite flaking off, and getting onto
the surface of the neg. It might be better to go with a little wax
(beeswax?), which is what cabinet makers use to make drawers slide better.
Now, I've never tried this myself, so I'm not sure how to go about it. One
way might be to apply a bit of wax to the edges of the slide, and use it to
get the wax into the grooves. Then, carefully clean the slide; what's left
in the groove should be sufficient, I would think.
I'm glad this came up -- I've got a couple of sticky ones myself!
