I have taken an 8x10 to Yucatan a couple of times.  My method is: at both US
& Mex airports go up to the security check - place my camera bag on the
floor at the security machine - open it - take out the film boxes and
holders & put them on the ground - take the camera bag and place it on the
convayor into the security machine - take my keys and change from my
pockets - place them on top of the film boxes/film holders and hand the
entire mess to the security guard - walk through the metal decetor and put
my hands out for the film boxes/holders/keys - works every time.

Hello,

I'm planning a trip to Mexico next week and want to bring my 4x5.  I'm a
bit worried about how to handle the film.  I can bring sealed boxes on the
way down and have them hand checked.  The problem is on the way back.

I'll have exposed negs in a box that is not sealed.  The film I'm bringing
is Plus-X, Tri-X and probably a chrome.

Should I worry about the hand carry xray?  Anything else I should be
concerned about?
