J.Allen

The postman picked up my check to Jay just a few minutes ago. I have a
Portrait Unar that I've been contemplating using, It has a moveable
negative element in the not quite center of the lens. It from looking
at the image on the ground glass, it seems to me shifting the focus
rather than playing with abberations.

He has a book from 1909 with a chapter (including photos) on the use of
the Unar. Now I don't expect getting much info out of the photos,
considering these will be a copy of 1909 halftone technology, but still
it's more than I've been able to find.

When I get the book I'll let know what there is about the Velosigmat
II. You'll owe me lunch. So far I've got two free lunches in England,
when I get to 10 I may actually think about going, but not with a large
format camera through Heathrow ;-)

Speaking of all that, If I do go, what do you think of the idea of
shipping the bloody thing overthere via air post? The lenses would stay
with me. The film and the camera go back on it's own? Wonder how much
exposure something gets like that?
