I'm with you on that...every 30 seconds has always been my technique.

The guy who sold me the tank said that he has an identical one, and 
uses the same agitation technique with no streaking problems.  I have 
a hunch that it would only be a concern if you used a little too much 
"aggression" in the shaking.

I know what you mean <grin>.  I've got some dead sheets with which to 
practice, until I feel confident that I can do it reliably. Last 
December, I processed my first 35mm negs in about 15 years, and had 
some nasty problems loading the Nikkor reel!  After a zillion rolls 
back in the 70s-80s, I never dreamed I'd lose the touch. Aghhhh.
