Thanks a bunch, Josh. Ain't technology wonderful! "Let me grab my
digital camera" would not have been heard just a very few years ago.
These look like PVC fittings from Home Depot. About 4" dia? 
Now, for this really uninitiated person, go over the actual workings
please. How do you use them?
