Re: [Largeformat] Super Angulon 90mm f8
I have a 100mm WF Ektar that I use with my 4x5 field
camera and it does not afford me much movement at all.
I can shift about 1/4" before I begin to see the dark
edges of my image circle. Usually, I don't shift at
all since I would rather not see any fall-off around
the edges.
On the brighter side, this lens gives very good image
quality! At f16, I get good, sharp images across my
entire negative. The lens is much lighter than some
of the tanks out there today.
My lens has a Kodak shutter which mounts to a #1
lensboard so I can't help you much there. As far as
mounting filters, I spent about a week looking for an
adapter and finally found this really cool slip-on
mount that mounts over the outside of the lens (42mm).
It's made by Albert Specialty Company and looks
pretty old. I did find a series 6 adapter (40mm) that
sort-of threaded into the lens, but it caused some
serious vignetting.
Hope this helps, David
