Let me add to Doug's comment the addition that "careful" testing means just
that and under anything less than laboratory controlled conditions you could
possibly introduce unknown variables into your process that would negate the
tests. If you go to the LF home page you will find lens tests there of a
large number of LF lenses. If memory serves there is not a single lens in
the test that does NOT produce optimal performance between f16 - f22. There
are a few where f11 is almost as good and the same for a few at f 32/.
