Yes, it is indeed sad to see the digital evolution in imaging.  As a
part-time motor sports photographer, it has been most interesting to watch
the auto-everything wonderbricks completely replace the manual camera.  Now,
the digital wonderbricks are replacing their film-based brethern in droves.
At the most recent NASCAR race at Darlington, I'd guess 25-30% of all the
pros there were shooting digitally.  They love it.  Their editors and
writers love it.  Me, I still prefer my mechanical, manual everything relic.
And my stuff still looks better than many of theirs.  Let 'em snicker .....

And yes Verna, I too have made my living in computers for the last couple
decades plus.  Too much technology, too little appreciation for the serenity
of the art and craft for its own sake.
