Re: [Largeformat] Re: Photo 101 - Class 25 - Incident meters
Two comments. First, you are absolutely right in terms of the value of a
trained eye.Having spent 40 years training mine and now relying on a spot
meter most of teh time I sometimes jsut put the meter away and go back to
doin ti the old fashioned way. Gotta tell you taht I don't generally see any
difference in the negs or chromes. On the other hand, using the spot meter
helps focus my thinking on how I want the final rpint to look as much as it
helps me determine exposure.
Second, don't know that one degree even though it covers a massive amount of
territory at 1500 feet or so. The more important point is HOW MUCH of the
negative is covered by that one degree. Of course if you want to get really
picky you can get a Minolta LS 110 meter ... it is a one third degree spot.
Now before everybody starts yelling "I want one" they cost around $3000!
Cheers
