Okay, this is peculiar. I had a board drilled to 1.5", and both my 100mm
WF Ektar and my 203/7.7 Ektar are about 2 mm too small. I don't get
it. The two lenses are the same size -- you can switch the retaining rings
back and forth -- but they're too small for the new board, and too large
for my #0 board. Does anyone know anything about this Supermatic size?

I've managed to jerryrig them in the new board -- I just put masking tape
between the lens and the face of the board, and this supplies enough
friction/stickiness to prevent the lens from moving -- but I don't know
whether to remain satisfied with this. Not that the Gowland requires
precise positioning... there are no zero detents.

One thing, however: the outside of the *flange* extrusion is in fact
1.5". Is this how flanges are supposed to be mounted, with the extrusion
poking through the hole? And if so, how precisely is it done?
